The new RM 10 denomination note issued in September 1979 depicts the 'Wawasan 2020' theme of the new Malaysian currency note series.
The obverse of the RM 10 note retains the dominant intaglio portrait of the First Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the distinctive anti-copy square in the centre of the note. On the reverse side of the note, the predominant design emphasizes transportation by air, land and sea. This is represented by Malaysia Airlines' aircraft, Light Rail Transit System's and Malaysia International Shipping Corporation's container vessel to signify the importance of transportation in the Malaysian economy.
